Momentary Frustrations

For argument's sake, I would like to say that I don't enjoy ignorance. Or misinformation. It's agitating, and I want to make sure everyone on Earth is as informed about life in general as they should be.

So with this in mind, let me ask: What the &$%@ does the Illuminati have to do with hip hop??

*facepalm.

More on this later.

Be it Resolved...

I have been giving considerable thought to my resolutions for this miraculous and promising new year. I had considered giving up fast food -- well, 4 days in, that one busted. So maybe I'll adapt it to something like "Not eating fast food more than twice a week." Maybe that will be more doable?

Anyway, edits and adaptations included, here's my list:

1. I will not eat fast food more than twice a week.
2. I will stay in better contact with friends and family.
3. I will lose at least 15 pounds by March.
4. I will complete at least one 30-day challenge a month. (This includes exercising, photo challenges, journaling challenges, etc., and yes I plan to make up for the days I have missed so far this month!)
5. I will try to answer at least one of life's biggest questions a week here.
6. I will begin a career directly in line with my education.
7. I will finish one of the novel/story ideas that I have in my head.

I could list a few more, but I'm hoping 7 is my lucky number. It's also ridiculously late and I need to go to sleep! Like I'm yawning and my eyes are watering so much I look like I'm at a funeral kind of "need to go to sleep." So... Until next time,

Lullaby,
And goodnight,
Go to sleep little baby...
Sleep so tight,
Rock-a-bye,
It's 1 in the morning so close your damn eyes!

Out with the Old, In with the New

Welcome to 2014. I would do a year in review, but suffice to say that changes have been - and will continue to be - made. It's been a wonderful and terrifying roller coaster ride, which I am almost reluctant to say I'm glad it's over. I mean, I am glad it's over... the drama and downward spirals, anyway. I wouldn't change the good things for anything.

Actually, this whole "New Year" idea makes me think about one of the newer Halestorm songs called "Here's to Us." Part of the bridge (or is this considered its own verse?) goes like this:

Here's to all that we've kissed
And to all that we've missed
To the biggest mistakes that we just wouldn't trade
To us breaking up
Without us breaking down
To whatever comes our way

Here's to us!

So here's to you, here's to me, here's to the birds that're hanging with the bees. One shot for love and one for loss, now take one more to show 'em who's boss.

Salud!
